Brode
Voil
Sheer woven fabric, lightly or heavily embroidered
with various patterns (from geometrical, stripes
to floral) designed to present a certain amount
of light penetration while offering enough blockage
to preserve privacy. Provides adequate coverage
along with the glamour and serenity needed for interior
decorating. Everyone can share the luxury. By controlling
the amount, the type, and the architecture of the
embroidery, style and elegance become easy items.
The base is generally embroidered with two to
three layer bands with colored textured polyester
yarn. Popular colors for embroidery are beige,
gold, white, and metallic. Less popular are light
brown and burgundy. Typically a lot of emphasis
is placed on the bottom edge, as it is usually
the most visible part, and the main part in determining
the style of the curtain. It is also common for
the bottom edge to have hollow embroidery.
