Brode
Froisse
Sheer woven fabric, lightly embroidered with various
patterns (from geometrical, stripes to floral) and
then intentionally creased (froisse), designed to
present more privacy than the voile, along with
a very original fancy appearance. The secret is
all in the way and the amount of creasing that is
applied to the fabric. Precise dyeing and finishing
are a must.
Because the emphasis is on the creases, the fabric
is generally lightly but uniformly embroidered.
The final product gives the originality of a Picasso
: no two creases are the same. If you want to
be different that is the way to go.
The base is embroidered with colored textured
polyester yarn. Popular colors for embroidery
are beige, gold, white, and metallic. Less popular
are light brown and burgundy. The fabric is uniform
with emphasis placed on the whole.
